Military Heroes: Boycott the Obamas on Independence Day!

July 1, 2012

http://freedomoutpost.com/2012/06/obama-to-military-pay-up/

Obama has been trying for years to lower the health benefits for our military–he wants everyone in the country pushed first into Obamacare and then a nationalized healthcare which has to include British style rationing, hurting our elderly and wounded the most.

Do you want to lose your HSA, FSA and Medicare Advantage plan?

October 11, 2009

http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=10622

Please read this CATO article about what will happen to your insurance plans if this horrid Democrat healthcare bill goes through.   I will lose my HSA and most likely my healthcare premiums will go up and  not down, and I won’t have the benefits I want.  I want my HSA to continue!!!

Medicare Advantage will be gutted and simply disappear for those 10 to 11 million of seniors presently on those plans.

Because  it will be 3 to 5 years before this new healthcare overhaul comes into fruition, except for the taxes which start next year, the Democrats will attempt to get Obama re-elected before the masses realize how much they have lost in benefits, how more intrusive Big Brother Government will direct their lives;   and liberty and freedom will have been lost.

Please call your congressmen and senators and tell them to vote against the Democrat Healthcare debacle.

Must read article if you think we need universal healthcare (Obamacare); The “poor” don’t live the lifestyle of the poor

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/10/subsidized_health_care_a_view_1.html Excerpt:

The following items were commonly seen on patients or carried by their dependent children, who were also covered by subsidized programs:

  • Cell phones and “BlackBerry” PDAs, including just-released models with a price tag of $400, plus an ongoing monthly service fee of $65-$150
  • iPods and portable DVD players
  • GameBoys and handheld electronic games
  • Artificial fingernails requiring maintenance every two weeks at a cost of $40-$60 per salon visit
  • Elaborate braided hair weaves, $300 per session plus frequent maintenance
  • Custom-designed body art, including tattoos covering the entire torso, neck and arms, as well as body jewelry piercing every skin surface imaginable-and a few unimaginable ones.  Custom tattoo work, particularly the “portrait-type”and “half sleeve” art popular in this area, runs from $100-$300 per hour and can require up to 20 hours of work, depending on the complexity of the design.

I  and thousands of doctors across the country could easily have written this article.   Years ago,   I had just discounted a patient’s office visit because she and her husband were in a low income area and ran a ministry for the poor.   She then casually said she and her husband were going on a Caribbean cruise.   I had not had a real vacation in years.

I personally have also done the “parking lot review.”    Much nicer cars than my Toyota minivan.    I also have seen minimum wage ward clerks in hospitals with the expensive hair braiding and artificial fingernails.

A wealthy financial executive, still working after age 65,  told me he did not want to have to pay $15 for his medical records to be copied and sent to another doctor.   But this gentleman gave thousands of dollars to numerous foundations with his name on plaques and buildings.   His conclusion must have been all doctors are rich and drive Jaguars.

When other businessmen think doctors get paid with manna from heaven and feel no reason to pay physicians for their time and knowledge,  it is time for solo practitioners to throw in the towel like the surgeon in this article.

Anyone who votes for HR 1 should be thrown out of office

FRIDAY THE 13TH OF FEBRUARY, 2009

Bet you didn’t know Porkulus will cost $3.27 trillion?!?!?

1. Have You Seen Porkulus?

Nancy Pelosi let K-Street lobbyists look at the final language, but would not let members of Congress look. Democrats told Republicans they couldn’t see Porkulus because they were going to vote against it. And the Democrats told everyone there’s be a 48 hour viewing period, but they’ve decided to ignore their promise.

2. A Raw Deal For American Families

Porkulus provides $1.10 per day in tax relief to workers, while saddling every American family with $9,400.00 in added debt. And it is bigger than the GDP of all but 15 nations.

3. The Democrats’ Math Doesn’t Add Up

The only thing certain is that Porkulus does not create all the jobs Barack Obama said it would.

4. Democrats to Approve $12 TRILLION Debt Ceiling

Subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31, United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting ”$12,104,000,000,000”.

5. Caterpillar CEO Directly Contradicts Obama’s Claim he said Workers Would be “Rehired” if “Stimulus” Passes

The daylight brings a huge contradiction. Obama really is Captain Bull Snot.

6. The Politicization of the Census Bureau is Not the Change Americans are Looking For

No single word was more prominently used during the election cycle of 2008 than “change.” It was a rallying cry for both Republicans and Democrats and represented a promise to reform Washington into a more bipartisan and transparent government. That was until the wave of promised bipartisanship suddenly hit a sea wall called the U.S. Census Bureau.

7. ‘Stimulus” Has $8 Billion for Harry Reid’s Re-Election Campaign

How Much Pork Is Hidden in the Details?

8. Obama’s bailout to cost $3.27 trillion

The Heritage Foundation reports that the true cost of the so-called “stimulus” is going to be $3.27 trillion. That’s right, President Obama’s bloated bailout boondoggle is going to cost four times the already outrageously expensive $789 trillion Senator Susan Collins finds “fiscally responsible.”

We’re receiving E-mails from Capitol Hill staffers expressing frustration that they can’t get a copy of the stimulus bill agreed to last night at a price of $789 billion. What’s more, staffers are complaining about who does have a copy: K Street lobbyists.

E-mails one key Democratic staffer: “K Street has the bill, or chunks of it, already, and the congressional offices don’t. So, the Hill is getting calls from the press (because it’s leaking out) asking us to confirm or talk about what we know-but we can’t do that because we haven’t seen the bill. Anyway, peeps up here are sort of a combo of confused and like, ‘Is this really happening?'”

Reporters pressing for details, meanwhile, are getting different numbers from different offices, especially when seeking the details of specific programs.

SOURCE

Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga., complained this morning on the House floor that lawmakers were being asked to vote, sight unseen, on “the largest single bill in the history of Congress.” Some Democratic lawmakers fired back that Republicans didn’t need to see the bill anyway, since none of them voted for the stimulus when it moved through the House the first time and would probably stand in opposition.

SOURCE

Let’s pretend the conference report is to be distributed right now – 5:30pm EST – to House members (in reality, it likely won’t be until later tonight). That would leave 15 1/2 hours, or 930 minutes, for consideration of the 1,434-page conference report before floor action on the bill commences – one and a half pages a minute from now until the morning, with no stops for any reason whatsoever.

Leave aside, for a moment, the fact that the House – including Hoyer himself – unanimously voted in favor of a 48-hour review period for the porkulus before action was taken on it. Is one night really enough time to read for the first time and consider a bill that would borrow and spend an amount of money that, if it were GDP, would make it the fifteenth largest economy in the world?

2. A Raw Deal For American Families

Porkulus provides $1.10 per day in tax relief to workers, while saddling every American family with $9,400.00 in added debt. And it is bigger than the GDP of all but 15 nations.

Following are some very tentative quick facts on the trillion-dollar “stimulus” spending deal slated to be rushed through the House and Senate today or tomorrow by Congressional Democrats, as compiled by the Office of House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH). These are based on best estimates on legislative text and scoring and may be subject to revision. Keep in mind that the Democrats haven’t actually released the actual text yet.

Generational Theft. The final agreement will cost each and every household more than $9,400 in additional debt (including interest on the bill), paid for by our children and grandchildren.
Paltry Tax Relief for Working Families and Small Businesses. The “Making Work Pay” tax credit at the center of the plan amounts to $1.10 a day, not even enough to ride the bus one-way to work.
Massive Government Expansion. The final agreement is almost as much as the annual discretionary budget for the entire federal government.
A Trillion-Dollar Spending Bill. The $789.5 billion final agreement slated for a House vote either today or tomorrow will exceed more than $1 trillion when adding in the interest of approximately $300 billion between 2009-2019.
Unnecessary Spending That Won’t Create Jobs. Apparently included in the final “jobs” bill is money for plug-in vehicles, money for STD prevention, and money for ACORN (via the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and CDBG program). The final agreement also creates new programs and funds existing programs that can be used to fund earmarks and pork-barrel projects.
The bill contains enough spending – $789.5 billion – to give every man, woman and child in America $2,600. $789.5 billion is enough to give every person in Ohio more than $68,000.
Supporters of the bill say it saves or creates 3.67 million new jobs. But, the data they are circulating shows only 3.46 million – that’s 210,000 fewer than their talking points claim, 500,000 fewer than President Obama promised, and a staggering 2.74 million fewer than the 6.2 million jobs that would be created by the House GOP alternative.
The bill creates 31 new programs totaling $97 billion (31% of all appropriations) and expands 73 programs by $92 billion which are part of the regular appropriations process, not “stimulative spending.”
Almost one-third of the so called “tax relief” in the bill is spending in disguise, meaning that true tax relief makes up only 26% of the total package – a far cry from the 40 percent that President Obama had requested.
A provision tucked in the bill will further increase government involvement in health care by putting bureaucrats – not doctors – in charge of health care choices for families and seniors.

Oh, and Porkulus is, at its base total larger than the Gross Domestic Product of all but 15 countries and, at the Congressional Budget Office estimate, is larger than the GDP of all but 4 countries.

SOURCE

3. The Democrats’ Math Doesn’t Add Up

The only thing certain is that Porkulus does not create all the jobs Barack Obama said it would.

Congressman Eric Cantor has prepared a chart that shows just how screwed up the White House’s numbers are. The White House attributes the error to a rounding error. That doesn’t quite add up though.

Small states have significant deviations from totals by the state versus total by the congressional district. And states with just one state wide congressional district have +20% swings.

SOURCE

According to their own documentation, the bill will create 500,000 fewer jobs than Barack Obama promised. That’s right – a half million less.

The Democrats say Porkulus will save or create 3.67 million new jobs, but their data shows only 3.46 million new jobs. Both are short of Obama’s 4 million new jobs (maybe he is including the 51st through 57th states in his data).

For perspective: the House GOP’s alternative to Porkulus would create 6.2 million new jobs.

Likewise, there’s something else screwy with the Democrats’ numbers. According to their data, Wyoming will get 8,000 new jobs. But broken down by Congressional District, Wyoming’s single Congressional District will get only 6,100 new jobs.

4. Democrats to Approve $12 TRILLION Debt Ceiling

Subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31, United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting ”$12,104,000,000,000”.

In October, this Democratic Congress raised the debt ceiling to $11.3 trillion. Four months later, they will raise it to $12.1 trillion. And at the rate Obama and the Democrats are going, they’ll need to boost it by another trillion in a year or so.

5. Caterpillar CEO Directly Contradicts Obama’s Claim he said Workers Would be “Rehired” if “Stimulus” Passes

The daylight brings a huge contradiction. Obama really is Captain Bull Snot.

President Obama today repeated the claim we asked about yesterday at the press briefing that Jim Owens, the CEO of Caterpillar, Inc., “said that if Congress passes our plan, this company will be able to rehire some of the folks who were just laid off.” …

But after the president left the event, Owens said the exact opposite.

Asked if the stimulus package would be able to stop the 22,000 layoffs or not, Owens said, “I think realistically no. The truth is we’re going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again”

“It is going to take some time before that stimulus bill” means re-hiring, he said.

The White House quietly announced that the Director of the non-partisan Census Bureau would no longer report to the Secretary of Commerce as it always has, but would now report directly to the President’s Chief of Staff, and former head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Rahm Emmanuel.

This sudden and seismic shift may on the surface seem to be nothing more than a procedural change, until one realizes the importance of the 2010 Census and the political power that it will have to shape the future.

The data collected in the Census will affect how more than $300 billion in federal and state funding is allocated each year to communities for neighborhood improvement, public health, transportation, and much more. The statistics will also be used to apportion seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and to redistrict state legislatures. It will also affect school district assignment areas and other important functional areas of government.

That’s why the seizure of the non-political Census Bureau by the political structure in the White House signals a troubling willingness to insert politics into the process that it says it wants to de-politicize. This is nothing more than a bait-and-switch.

7. ‘Stimulus” Has $8 Billion for Harry Reid’s Re-Election Campaign

How Much Pork Is Hidden in the Details?

Quite a lot. According to Bloomberg, Congressional leaders managed to squeeze in a tax break of ‘up to $10 billion’ that General Motors has been looking for:

“GM won a provision that will erase a tax liability of up to $10 billion that would have resulted from restructuring efforts, said Senator Debbie Stabenow, a Michigan Democrat.”

The bill also includes $8 billion for Harry Reid’s re-election effort a MagLev train from Southern California to Las Vegas.

The Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas maglev is competing with a privately-funded diesel/electric train – one that Reid won’t be able to take credit for, and which won’t go all the way to Hollywood. If Harry Reid is going to stand a chance of getting re-elected, he’ll need to be able to point to plenty of concrete and steel with his name on the outside and your tax dollars on the inside.

Here’s the skinny from Heritage:

“All of the major news outlets are reporting that the stimulus bill voted out of conference committee last night has a meager $789 billion price tag. This number is pure fantasy. No one believes that the increased funding for programs the left loves like Head Start, Medicaid, COBRA, and the Earned Income Tax Credit is in anyway temporary. No Congress under control of the left will ever cut funding for these programs.”

9. Jesuits Accused of Catholicism

Belief Is Intolerable

A perfect display of what liberal “tolerance” means these days: apparently it’s now “intolerant” to put a crucifix in the classroom of a Catholic college. This comment is priceless:

“But sophomore Alex LoVerde, 20, believes a crucifix ‘pushes the Catholic religion’ and does not belong in a classroom. ‘I think the Jesuit tradition is more of openness and tolerance,’ LoVerde said. ‘I think that an overt display of crucifixes is not what the Jesuits would have had in mind.'”

Boston College really is failing its core educational mission if this sort of ignorance is common among its students.

Preventive Medicine does NOT save money

February 3, 2009

I told my politically active son recently that studies have shown that preventive medicine does not save money,  no matter how much Obama/Daschle  propaganda  is spewed that we can save billions and billions of dollars by giving every American healthcare, and thus access to preventive medicine.  The only prevention modalities that save healthcare dollars are childhood immunizations and prenatal care for at risk mothers according to John Goodman.

Obama will destroy healthcare as we know it

January 26, 2009

America’s Right  has a great article by Rick Saunders on Obama’s healthcare  to come–600 million dollars just to PREPARE for universal healthcare.

If you are planning any elective surgery, I would advise you to do it this year, before the Messiah decides what medical care is worthy enough to be included in his plan.   Yes, lots of coverage for the birth control pill,  but maybe your total knee replacement can wait a couple of years a la Canada and England.   Obama’s (Daschel’s) National Health Board is going to be able to decide what medical care every American “deserves.”

Shades of things to come in American Healthcare?

December 21, 2008

This article from   UK TimesOnline  http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article5375694.ece  typifies the problems that occur when government bureaucrats manage and control a country’s national healthcare system.   Adding more bureaucrats to micromanage how doctors practice medicine, in particular,  limiting the number of hours a doctor can work to 48 hours/week,  is a prescription for disaster.   Imagine you are very sick on a Friday morning and arrive at your family doctor’s office.   The door is locked with a CLOSED sign.   Alas, your doctor finished working his statute -limited work week on Thursday afternoon and you are out of luck until Monday morning.    For the few of you patients who still have  a doctor who will  “call you in an antibiotic”,   he/she  won’t be allowed to take phone calls after hours either–contrary to the opinion of insurance companies, taking phone calls is considered work (just ask an attorney).    Every primary care doctor who has been in practice more than a few years can tell you about patients who always call after hours and on the weekend who think their doctor just enjoys talking to them and is eagerly waiting for their beeper or cell phone to ring at midnight .  On the line is one of the doctor’s patients, who has had symptoms for several days, has self diagnosed a recurrent  sinus infection that responded so well to Zithromax in 2004, the last time he came in for an office visit.

When Mr. Obama is able to get his socialized healthcare passed,  changes will probably come in steps.   I expect a broad extension of S-CHIP to all children and then to an ever enlarging adult population.     Because the socialists in an Obama adminstration will preach for equality in all aspects of healthcare,  I predict a medical system like Canada’s or Great Britain’s will eventually be passed by a Democrat dominated Congress,  though a 2-tiered system will likely survive—Congress will certainly exempt themselves from socialized medicine!

In a future post,  I hope to discuss reimbursement for doctors.   While Congress gave themselves a $4100 payraise,  doctors had to fight to prevent a 5.5% Medicare reimbursement cut.   Due to decreased reimbursement over the last decade  from Medicare and private insurance, while overhead costs continued to rise, many doctors are making 20 to 30% less than 10 years ago in absolute dollars (not including effect of inflation).
