Donofrio and Charlton discussing “Kenyan-Born”

You can go to Post & Email and naturalborncitizen blogs to read the arguments about what the term “Kenyan-born” means.   To we average IQ people, that means a person was born in Kenya.  However, Donofrio makes a great point.  I am “Texas-born”, meaning I was born on the best soil in the world.   However, with full disclosure, only one of my parents was  born in Texas.   Now, if I was born in New York City, but with 2 parents born in Texas, one could make the argument I was “Texan-born” but not “Texas born” since I was born far from the great state of Texas.

So I understand when Leo argues that Kenyan born refers to “blood”, that is , son of a Kenyan native. And the argument makes more sense if both parents were born in Kenya.

John Charlton, however cites a Nigerian newspaper article that claims Obama is “Kenya born”.   I think that is trickier and to me that formulation means Obama was born someplace actually in the country of Kenya.   Obama could have 2 American parents and still be “Kenya” born.

Which comes down to once again:  Please show us the long form, vault birth certificate!!

It was a Kenyan newspaper, not a Nigerian newspaper.

Why believe a Kenyan newspaper (which, if it were serious about reporting that Obama was born there would cite something such as a document or a source) and not believe the Wall Street Journal, which concluded: “Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn.” (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204619004574320190095246658.html)

In other words, the Kenyan newspaper made a mistake. Big deal. If it had been serious about reporting its news that it had found out that Obama was born in Kenya, it would have said “we know that he was born in Kenya because we found X document or Y source said it.” But it wasn’t doing reporting, it was just saying that it knew that there was a Kenya relationship with Obama, and it didn’t have tough editors or fact-checkers.

IF Obama had been born in Kenya there would at least be a Kenyan document showing that his mother arrived in Kenya in 1961. No such document has been found, and the explanation that the Kenyan government has sealed the files is weak, since if the Kenyan government had sealed any files it would have been reported by respected news agencies (NOT WND).

IF Obama had been born in Kenya, he would have needed a US travel document to get to the USA, such as a US visa on a British passport or a change to his mother’s passport to include him, and that would have had to have been issued in Kenya. Either of those documents would still be on file at the US State Department, if they existed, and they would have been found, if they existed. But no such document has turned up.

Also, it is absurd to believe that Obama’s mother traveled from Hawaii to Kenya while she was pregnant. Pregnant women rarely traveled long distances in 1961 because of fear of miscarriages, and there were no direct flights in those days, so she would have had to have made four or five stops along the way to Kenya and back, on poorly pressurized planes, and with long-distance airline tickets costing relatively more (compared to average earnings) in those days than now.

And, Obama’s Kenyan grandmother never said that Obama was born in Kenya. She said that he was born in Hawaii. This can be clearly heard if you listen to the complete recording of the tape, which is on Berg’s site. The complete recording includes a question asking “Whereabouts was he born?” And her answer was: “America, Hawaii.”

Here is the complete recording on Berg’s site. Be sure to listen for at least five minutes until the question is asked. (http://obamacrimes.com/Telephone_Interview_with_Sarah_Hussein_Obama_10-16-08.mp3)

If it is too difficult to listen to the complete tape, here is a transcript (http://www.obamaconspiracy.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/obamatranscriptlulu109.pdf).

All the allegations of Obama’s birth abroad were checked out by the McCain campaign, and they found that there were no facts. No facts at all. (http://washingtonindependent.com/52474/mccain-campaign-investigated-dismissed-obama-citizenship-rumors)

I think you have some inaccuracies in your comment.

Your comment that the press would have reported on any files regarding Obama being sealed in Kenya is naiive.

The last sentence about McCain’s campaign doing a thorough Obama investigation is ludicrous. McCain loves Obama.

  3. politicaldoc Says:

It was the “Nigerian Newspage” (which I believe comes from Nigeria) which used the term “Kenya born”. So it is smrstrauss who is incorrect–one must read articles carefully before bluntly trying to correct a post.

  4. smrstrauss Says:

Sorry on the Nigerian newspaper. There was also a Kenyan newspaper.
Neither said that they based their story on reporting. Neither said that it had a source or a document. Neither apparently has repeated the story.

So, do we know if the African newspapers have fact checkers or tough editors? No.

In contrast, we have the respected Wall Street Journal, which wrote: ““Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn.’

And we have the National Review, which commented: “The theory that Obama was born in Kenya, that he was smuggled into the U.S., and that his parents somehow hoodwinked Hawaiian authorities into falsely certifying his birth in Oahu, is crazy stuff.”

Re: ‘Your comment that the press would have reported on any files regarding Obama being sealed in Kenya is naiive.”

Oddly, it is the conservatives who have become naiive. Remember the idea that people do things for money? In this case, newspapers report things that sell newspapers–even liberal ones. And in Kenya there are freelance journalists, who only make money if they can sell stories. If they found that there were files sealed in Kenya, that would be a story, and they would make money. The same even more so with having found that there were birth certificates in the files.

But, no one has confirmed WND’s allegation that there are files and that they are sealed. And, no one has been able to show how Obama could be born in Kenya and get to the USA without some kind of US travel document, such as a US visa or the issue of a US passport or the revision of his mother’s passport to include him. All would have to take place in Kenya, if they occurred, and all of them would be on file at the State Department, where they could be found by the CIA, FBI, and by the State Department itself, which until January was under the Republicans.

Nothing has been found, and the Kenyan grandmother did not say that Obama was born in Kenya; she said that he was born in Hawaii.

Obama is hiding something. When historians begin to write his history in the, years ahead, do you think anyone will object to Obama hiding basic information from birth to the time he was elected POTUS?
Bloggers are the only people trying to explore and document his past for posterity. The mainstream media are co-conspirators–has anyone of them reported how many Social Security numbers and addresses link to Obama?
Why does Obama have a SS number emanating from Connecticut?
So many, many questions left unanswered.
Oh, when challenged by Keyes in 2004, Obama admitted he did not have to be a natural born citizen because he was not running for president. Somehow that clip was scrubbed………….

Re: “Bloggers are the only people trying to explore and document his past for posterity.”

Obama has posted the official birth certificate of Hawaii. There is no evidence that Obama was born anywhere else than Hawaii.
